Mouse trail by Iro Gravani
This is a cool effect that gives life to your cursor, making any object that you want to follow it! All you need to make a mouse trail is a movie clip with the symbol that will be animated on the cursor.

1. New movie clip Back to Top
First of all create a new movie.
Make a simple shape (the one that will follow the cursor).
Select the shape and make it a movie clip (Insert-Convert to symbol, behavior: movie clip).
Now double-click on the movie clip and its properties will be brought up.
Give an instance name, for example "ball".

2. Make a new layer Back to Top
Add a new layer and make three empty keyframes.
Double-click on them one-by-one and bring up their properties.
In the action tab make the following actions:

1st keyframe:
Start Drag (target: ball)
Check the "lock mouse to center" button.

2nd keyframe:
Set Variable: Variable:CopyCount, Value:CopyCount+1
If: Condition: CopyCount>10
   Set Variable: Variable:CopyCount, Value:1
End if
Duplicate movie clip: Action:Duplicate movie clip Target:ball New name: "ball" & CopyCount Depth:CopyCount
Set property: Set:Rotation Target:"ball" & CopyCount Value:Random*(72)

3rd keyframe:
Go to and play: number:2

The variable CopyCount increases by 1 each time the movie loops. When it reaches 10, it is set back to 1, and so loops around again. The last line makes a duplicate of the original movie clip (ball1), and calls it ball2 or ball3 or ball4 etc., depending on the value of CopyCount. When CopyCount goes back to 1, it 'overwrites' the original ball1, then ball2, and so on. In this way, there are only ever 10 movie clips.
